Image Enhancement

All finished photographs are worked on and “enhanced” in one way or another.  Some photographs have very subtle changes made in the colors and vibrancy, others may have some more artistic effects done.  All basic retouching such as temporary skin blemishes (pimples, cuts, bruises) is something I do on every photograph and there is never a charge for this.  I am happy to work with other minor issues like scars, but only if specifically asked to do so by my clients.  On average I can spend up to 20 minutes on a photograph adjusting the optimal color, tonality, vibrancy, and clarity.   Here is a senior portrait that was enhanced with a look known to photographers as cross processed.

Engagement session in Cle Elum

Published by bret under Engagement

I’m getting a bunch of stuff ready for my new website and I’m digging up some engagement sessions to post. I’d like to put a variety of them on from country/woodsy looking ones to urban to tropical type settings. This is Brandon and Jessica and we took these up at Brandon’s parents place in the Cle Elum area. Engagement sessions are so nice, they give us a great opportunity to get to know one another and get some great photographs in a totally relaxed environment. I’m not into heavily posing people, so for the most part I like to find some areas with perfect light and just let you be together and have fun together.  If you look up on the top of my blog you’ll see on of their wedding photos in the snow! (unless you’re reading this months from now and I update the photobar! :) )

I went to an awesome concert with G2!

Published by bret under Personal

No not U2…. Grade 2. My son Sam and half of his fellow second graders at his school put on a great concert for us last night. They sang a couple songs, and even had some dancing in the show. Then the show closed with a really cool group kazoo number. I’ve never seen and heard so many kazoos being played all at once. It was a great night and I was a very proud dad.

High School Senior Ambassadors Wanted

Published by bret under Promotions, Senior Portraits

2009 Senior Ambassadors

WANTED: SENIOR AMBASSADORS

Are you in the class of 2009?

Percival Photography is currently looking for this years Senior Ambassadors for the Class of 2009. We need both guys and gals who are going to be Seniors NEXT year that would like to have some FREE portraits and show them off to friends.

You do not need to be a model, a 4.0 student, or the “most popular” person in school. What we’re looking for are everyday people that have friends, and want to have some awesome senior portraits. If you’re happy with your portraits you can simply show them off to friends and hand out some coupons to help them save money on theirs.

For each coupon that comes back with your photos on it you’ll earn portrait credits and cash! We also pay our ambassadors to help gather students names and addresses that would be interested in having more information sent to them.

SO… if you’re liking the idea of some free portraits and making some extra money on the side give us a call a soon as possible. Spaces are limited and we must begin the process as soon as possible so do not delay! We usually have our first photo sessions started in early March so that you have time to show off your photos well before school is out.

We have a short interview process, and if you’re under 18 you’ll need a parent or guardian’s approval.

Call the studio at 425-358-5035 OR 206-347-1041 for more information!

P.S. CLASS of 2008. It’s not too late for you either. You can still have all the free coupons you need and can earn the same credits and cash as the 2009 Ambassadors. The only difference is you’ll do your regular senior portrait session, and when you place an order we’ll give you free coupons to give out to your friends. You are eligible for the same credits and cash rewards for referring your friends as well!

We are open to accepting Ambassadors from any school. However, the closer you are the more likely you will be able to convince people to coming to us. The studio is in Maple Valley very close to Covington and Black Diamond. Some of the closest schools that we seem to photograph the most are:

Tahoma High School in Maple Valley (Covington)
Kentwood High School in Covington (Kent SD)
Kentlake High School in Covington (Kent SD)
Kentridge High School in Kent
Kent Meridian High School in Kent
Enumclaw High School in Enumclaw
Hazen High School in Renton School District
Liberty High School in Renton
Lindbergh High School in Renton
Auburn High School in Auburn
Issaquah High School in Issaquah
Mt. Si High School in Snoqualmie

Of course if your school is not on this list we’d still love to hear from you!
